It does not remove the fast web view status - but you can check this for yourself.
Firstly, optimise the PDF via the Reduce File size option in Acrobat.
After this procedure, you can examine the results. There is metadata inside a PDF which enables a user to check. Go File/Document Properties (or just 'Properties' with Acrobat 8) and then in the General section, look bottom right for the Fast web view description.
Another option if you're using the Professional version is the PDF Optimiser under the Advanced menu ...
