This must be a FAQ, but I couldn't find it!
When I save a selection as Adobe PDF, color and clickable links are lost.

Some things to look over.
re: links
Are you using the Adobe PDFMaker?
For instance, using MS Word, open the Acrobat ribbon.
Configure (the icon that is second from left).
Make PDF (the icon at left).
re: color
With Adobe PDFMaker's dialog open -
Under the "Settings" tab; observe the entry for "Conversion Settings"
The associated drop-down menu provides choices.
These are the Distiller Job Options available.
Picking one (say "Standard"), click on the "Advanced Settings" button.
This opens Distiller's configuration dialog.
At the left side of the dialog, select "Color".
Look over the "Color" configurations.
Each of the categories, at the left, have configuration settings.
These dictate much of what the output PDF will be.
Click the "Help" button, in the Distiller configuration dialog, to learn about what the various settings do.
For instance, in "General" the "Object Level Compression" can (depending upon the value selected)
make the compressed objects neither visible nor usable in Acrobat 5.x or Reader 5.x.
