Selling PDF Brochures

Hi grandprix,

Sure you can create interactive PDFs of any kind with Acrobat and sell them. There are a multitude of companies who create PDF forms, reports, brochures, etc. for clients using Acrobat. Is there some reason you thought otherwise?

For some reason I thought maybe you had to have Acrobat Lifecycle ES to market and sell interactive pdfs. Well thats great news. I also notice you said in your statement "for clients using Acrobat" Do clients have to have acrobat? Can I just create an interactive pdf brochure and sell that to the comapany even if they only adobe program they are using is Reader?

I should have said "using Acrobat for clients"- my bad grammar :)

You don't have to have Acrobat Pro or Standard to view any kind of PDF- the free Reader will work with a few BUTS. If you use newer features in Acrobat then the viewers may need to have the latest version of Reader to see/use those newer features. Some publishers prefer not asking viewers to download anything in order to read their PDFs. And I'd bet there are a huge number of people who do not have Reader 9 yet. So for instance, if you created a PDF Portfolio using the new Flash navigator(both new features in Acrobat 9), then the viewers would only be able to enjoy those new features if they had Reader 9.
