As a new user to Acrobat Pro 9 Extended I have managed to create some Geospatial PDF's with layers but i'm really struggling to get shp files in, even the most basic - I have created a pdf with a GeoTIFF image that works fine but No shape files even simple ones with the correct geospatial data read in. Acrobat comes back with cant create a PDF with that data !

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro Extended 9.1.3, Windows

Help - I'm looking for an example GeoTIFF and a shape file of the same area (preferably in the UK)which I can play around with. I cant seem to read in in the most basic shp files although they will readinto ArcGIS, AutoCAD Map and Manifold GIS fine. If some one could send a sample I would appreciate it ...Thanks in anticipation.

You have to have a dbf file and the shapefiles have to be in a certain projection and datum. The shapefiles must be in Geographic (Longitude and Latitude) and WGS 84. I do not know why the projection and datum are not documented as a requirement for import as layer.

As all the geospatial import and registration functionality has been removed from Acrobat X, documentation of the features in Acrobat 9 is not likely to be updated, nor bugs fixed. SHP import was never entirely reliable even with matching projections.
