Single Pages as Spreads in Full Screen Mode?

I have looked for a post similar to my very specific problem but I haven't found anything, so I apologize if this post is a repeat. I am trying to turn a print catalog (8.5 x 11 pages, 17 x 11 spreads) into a PDF document and printing single pages of the document on Letter size paper is a must. I have achieved this by exporting my PDF as single pages and switching it to Two-Up with Cover Page in Acrobat. Here is the problem, when exporting my document out of InDesign as Single Pages, the document does not view as Spreads in Full Screen Mode in Acrobat unless I tweak my Preferences. When this gets sent out to other people, I do not want them to have to adjust their Preferences. Is there a way for me to view my document as Spreads in Full Screen Mode while still being able to print individual pages without adjusting my Preferences?

No - the "fill screen with one page" preference is enabled by default and nothing in the document can change it, as there's no script access to that property of the fs object.
