Stop a scan that is in progress...How do you do it?

When I try to close out of Acrobat X the following message appears: "This operation is not allowed, since scanning is in progress".

I was going through the Acrobat X Tutorial and clicked on "File > Create > PDF by Scanning". I know my scanner is not hooked up properly so I was not surprised that nothing was scanned.

I can't figure out how to stop a scan in progress.

You may wait until Acrobat times out waiting for the scanner to respond.

If that is too long, you might go to the task manager and kill the Acrobat process(es).

Thank you for your suggestion, maxwyss. Acrobat never did time out after 2 hours so I used the task manager to kill the process. (It stopped running the entire Acrobat program...not just the scanning process.)

Do you have any suggestions on my earlier post involving the Epson WorkForce GT-S80 Doc. Scanner?

For your Epson scanner question, someone else has to jump in. Sorry.
