Table lines don't render correctly when border shading is used

when creating tables in word we have the border width set to 1.5pt for all cells. when i convert to pdf the lines appear smooth. when i use shading in some of the cells then convert to pdf the lines are no longer smooth for the cells that border the shaded cells.

Hi --

You will find that there's often a difference in how form fields look in Word vs. Acrobat. There's no real way to predict how it will look, but when possible, simpler is better. For example, double-line borders are imported to the PDF as two sets of lines, which can often be screwy, particularly if you use something like a 3D appearance.

You said the lines aren't smooth for the cells bordering the shaded cells, what happens to them?
