How do I take ownership of a document in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional?

Without ownership I cannot modify the document.

Ownership may have nothing to do with editing the PDF. For example a document created in WordPerfect and converted to PDF may not contain any editable data as the original content is a background image, forms created in LiveCycle Designer can not be edited in Acrobat, or a document converted to a PDF by scanning may only be an image and not text unless additional processing is done.
