Can I convert a pdf of an image with text to a text-searchable document? (E.g., a printscreen created from Word that has been converted to a .pdf.) I have Adobe 7.0. When I try to use the "Recognize Text Using OCR" capability, I get a message saying, "Acrobat could not perform recognition (OCR) on this page because: this page contains renderable text". Thank you!

If you are printing the scrren (taking a screen shot) then the resolution of your file is only 72 ppi. Not sufficient resolution for Acrobat to recognize the text.

You could try to resample the image in Photoshop to 300ppi and try to recognize the text on the higher resolution image. However, you'll get a lit of anti-aliasing and it may not work. If you have a lot of screens to capture and convert the text, you might want to try Genuine Fractals to upsize your image files. You can download a trial version to see if resampling using GF will do the job. Those are about your only options.
