Thumbnail View in Windows Explorer

Running Vista Ultimate and Acrobat 8.

In Windows Explorer, the pdf files do not show a thumbnail view. Is there a setting I can change so the pdf files will show a thumbnail in Explorer?

With the older versions of Acrobat and Reader, I was always able to see a thumbnail in Explorer.

Thanks,

Phil

Sounds like the default view preference is to show page only and not bookmarks and page. But you can set the PDF document's open preferences to open the bookmarks and page. As a matter of course, I always try to set a PDF's open preferences so I know it will always open as I intend it to and I do not have to rely upon the user's default choice.

OK, thanks - but that does not seem to answer my question...

I am not talking about when I have the pdf open in Acrobat -

I am talking about when viewing the contents of a folder with Windows Explorer. All the pdf's created with earlier versions of Adobe products show a thumbnail of the first page of the document. All pdf's created with Acrobat 8 simply show the Adobe logo.

Now I have to open several documents before I find the one I want.

Hmmm - and now I have just noticed that Word 2007 files do not show a thumbnail, but Word 2003 documents do....

Must be something I need to change in Explorer view options???

I tried changing some view options, to no avail...
