I have Adobe 8 pro on both my desktop and laptop. Both recently had explorer 8 updates. Soon after the laptop program will not allow the toolbar buttons to navigate to the hard drive. Adobe freezes and a "no go" (crossed out circle) shows up on the mouse pointer. Only by going to the windows task manager unlocks the freeze. There is, however, no problem navigating through the Adobe scroll down menu commands. I have tried repairing the program through the Help menu and windows add/remove programs. No luck. Any known fixes/patches for this?
1. Select Tools > Internet Options > Programs (tab) > Manage Add-ons.
2. Set Show to "Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer."
3. Find and select Adobe PDF Reader.
4. Make sure Enabled is selected.
You might also try to deselect and then reselect the Display PDF In Browser preference.
1. In Acrobat or Reader, choose Edit > Preferences.
2. Select Internet.
3. Deselect Display PDF In Browser, and then click OK.
4. Choose Edit > Preferences > Internet, select Display PDF In Browser, and then click OK.
