We are using the touch up text tool with our clients and they are having issues with font recognition. When they open a pdf they have varying problems when they attempt to update the text - this ranges from having no problems on some pdf's, being able to edit the text, but with a substituted font to receiving error messages stating the font isn't installed. We both have the same cut of the font and we have tried editing the pdf's ourselves - both on our networked computers and on stand alone systems at home and we can edit them without problems. We are both using the same version of Acrobat. The fonts are embedded.
Can you shed any light on this?
To use the Touchup Text tool, Acrobat looks at the embedded font and asks the OS if this font is known to the OS and available. If yes, the touchup continues. If no, the alerts.
Note that "same named" fonts are not always the same font.
