Usage of XPAAJ API and Threading Issues

Could any body provide Information regarding the usage of XPAAJ API from Threading perspective.Is it thread safe or the Application needs to implement it .

We used this API and ran into threading issues.

Any inforamtion or experience is Appreciated.
