Since installing Vista Ultimate, Acrobat Pro 8.1 & Reader 8.1, I've experienced routine instability with Acrobat (application closing), whether launched as an application or within a browser (Firefox 2.0.0.6 is my default). Its as though there is insufficient RAM (4g in this core duo system). Are there known issues here?

You may have did this already, if you have, re-post this question.

(1.)Through the Vista control panel, run the compatibility Wizard, find your Adobe installations and set them to Run as Administrator.

(2.) If you have any MS Office 2007 programs, download the PDF/XPS converter patch from Microsoft & install it.(3.) Check to make sure all Adobe add-ons are enabled in your web browsers.

(4.) In Acrobat, click Help, click Repair Acrobat installation.

Eugene Williams kindly answered my "Ask An Expert" post regarding Vista & Acrobat stability issues -- his suggestion to download & install a MS Office Compatibility patch seems to have helped -- Thanks!

Beyond MS Office 2007 compatibility issues, Eugene's 4th suggestion also seems to have helped (Repair takes a very long time (80+ minutes), however.

Thanks again.
