command line convert a single document?

I've scanned the items here (and via Google) and can't find what I'm looking for. Is there a way, from a command prompt, to convert a single .DOC file to a .PDF file? I'm trying to automate a process, and this doesn't seem to be a violation of the license agreement because it isn't a "batch" of PDF files. Thank you for your help!

Look up Acrobat Distiller. This is the standard Adobe tool for converting to PDF files.

Alternatively, there are several third party tools for converting word files to PDF. Many of them have good command line controls and/or set up "Hot" folders. that automatically covert any file dumped into the folder. So there is a range of options.
