I made a javascript in Adobe Acrobat 8.1 on a form to populate information in 2 other fields. Works great. However, I've been told I have the wrong information in the prepopulated field and need to change it. I went into the form under Advanced, Document Processing, but the area under Edit all Javascripts is greyed out. How can I edit the Javascript? Please help ASAP!
Thanks

Hi pflores,

Is this an Acroform or LiveCycle Designer form? If it is a LiveCycle Designer form you must make the changes in LiveCycle Designer, not Acrobat.

If it is an Acroform there could be a number of reasons the edit all JavaScripts is greyed out. Did you apply security to the form? Did you apply Usage Rights to the form? Did you certify the form? It is always good practice when you do any of the above actions to save the pdf with a different name so it is easier to go back and make changes to the original.

If it is an Acroform try this- open the pdf and click on the Select Object Tool. You should get a dialog that says some features of the form cannot be changed and to make changes you need to save a "copy" of the form. Choose Save a Copy and give the form a different name. Then you can use the Select Object tool to activate all the fields, right click on the one you want to change and choose Properties to access the script to make changes.

Hope this helps,

Dimitri

If the form was saved with Extended Reader Rights, you will have to go back to a version of the form before applying the Extended Rights.
