how to set the icon for a file attachment to be empty .

A file can be attached to a PDF document as an attachment to the entire file, or attached as a type of comment to a particular location on a page. A file attached to the document is selected and managed in the Attachments pane. Use the Attach a File as a Comment tool to specify a particular attachment location on a page. The only way the icon can be "empty" is if you attach the file, double-click the icon on the page to open its Properties dialog, and change the color of the icon to match the color of your page. The file is still attached, but invisible. I am not sure why you would want to do that, but it is possible.

Perhaps if you could explain how you want to use the attachment we can zero in on the appropriate answer.

Hi Donna, I have a question about that. Let's say I have a PPT file that I'd like to attach to the document. I want to have a link on my PDF that opens the PPT in its native format in a separate window. Is this possible?
