File system limitation in Distiller 8.1 COM interface

I have a .NET (C#) application that is using Distiller's COM Interop interface to distill PDFs. The application was working fine until I upgraded to Distiller 8.1. I have read that default file system permissions have been changed as of 8.1 and that the workaround is to run Distiller from a command line with the -F switch. However, I can find no information as to how to accomplish the same thing through the COM interface as opposed to the command line. Is it possible to bypass this limitation without using the command line? If not, is there a registry / joboptions / other setting I can employ?
