Impact of Turning off Javascript in Acrobat and reader

I have version 9.4.1 of Acrobat and reader on our machines. Recently I got the report that there are some security exploits to our PDFs. I checked and found the below mentioned links which says that javascript could be the cause of these exploits. I was wondering what could be the impact if this option of Javascript is turned off. Apart from Adobe forms, do we really need javascript for reading pDFs? Could someone please let me know what could be the potential impact of disabling javascript?

There are very few vulnerable methods in Acrobat JavaScript, and most (if not all of them) are related to the Flash integration. Therefore, turning off JavaScript is overkill, and one should check what actually should be blacklisted.

Of course, you can live with JavaScript deactivated. The consequence is that any smart document won't work properly. It will therefore depend on how often you have a smart document to deal with.
