I'm creating a CD which has a HTML interface with links to PDF files. I have created an index for this CD. In order for users to have access to the index for searching the PDF file has to open in the Adobe application and not the browser. Is there a way using Javascript (or something else) to force the PDF to open in the Adobe application regardless of the Internet preferences the user has set in Adobe?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7, Windows

Hi Arice,

No, there is no way to override the user's preference for showing the PDF in the browser, but you can create a popup alert message that lets users know the situation and how best to view your CD contents.

Hope that helps,
Dimitri
