Linking to a new window

Hi All,
I have made a PDF document from Word with links, then converted to PDF. I would like these links opening into a new window when i click them. I know this has been answered before, but with each document containing a few hundred "link to file" i need a bulk/batch way to apply this. Anyone has any answers?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8, Windows

As far as I know, Word's Hyperlink feature sets the view to the Default. You don't have an option for changing Window Preferences as you do with links in Acrobat.

You can change your Documents Preferences (Acrobat 8) or General Preferences (Acrobat viewers earlier than version 8) by toggling the preference option:

Open cross-document links in same window.

When this item is checked, cross-document links open in the same window. Remove the checkmark and the linked files open in new windows.
