I've seen other pdf doc forms with the Forms Editing removed from the Menu. So, I know it can be done. Not just grayed out, removed totally from Acrobat. If someone knows how to do this please let me know. I need to protect my work and having the ability to remove this option from the user is just what I need. Somebody. Let me know how to do this? Thanks.

OK, you have lost me on this one! If you want a form that cannot be edited, then create it as a jpeg (tiff, png, whatever) and send it out as that, wrapped in a PDF format if you want.

I believe what you are looking for is to lock down your code in an XDF document so that it cannot be viewed or edited by a 3rd party. This is not going to happen. These are document files (accessible by all) not a standalone application that requires a username/passcode to enter. The document format is designed to ensure that it has not been subverted from its original form, but that is about the limit.

It does not appear in Adobe Reader and is not present in Acrobat 6 Standard, Acrobat 7 Standard and Acrobat 8 Standard. Editing forms has been available since version 4 and was part of Acrobat until version 6 when the Professional and 3D versions were introduced along with the addition of LiveCycle Designer, that Adobe had purchased from JetForm, and the form tool was removed from the Standard edition. The AcroForm tools were reintroduced in Acrobat version 9 Standard. This also introduced the 'Exchanbe-Pro' value to the 'viewerType' property in the JSO model so one in code could tell the specific application being used.
