I have installed Adobe Reader 7.0 and some Asian Font packs(Chinese, Korean and etc). I would like to ask how can i upgrade to version 8 with the use of Windows GPO? Also, how can i install these fonr packs together with Adobe reader 8 by using GPO? The deployment guide i found in Adobe offical website does not mention much about that.
To really clean it up, run CCLEANER between the removal and installation step.
To create the custom transforms for the R8 installation use The Customization Wizard. To get your R8 installer files, download the R8 installation package* then start the installation. At the first prompt go digging through your C:\Temp directory - there should be a new 'Adobe / Reader' folder in there - copy the contents off to a working location. From there you can use Da' Customizer to make necessary modifications.
* The "default" location for downloading Reader involks the Adobe Download Manager (ADM) - this can be hit or miss in extracting files. Reply if this doesn't work and I will send you an alternate download location.
As for the Asian Font Packs - pull these together as a separate deployment. They are a separate product with separate licensing. Do not package them directly with your R8 build. However, you can chain them in the same deployment. I would go with the R8 installation before the Font Packs.
Please refer to other 'Expert' posts regarding Acrobat/Reader deployment for more details.
Questions sepecific to GPO will be an exercise for the reader.
Thanks for asking.
