CMYK PDF to Distilled CMYK PDF

Hi,
I have a CMYK PDF with a 100% black barcode.
I need to somehow distil this file and maintain the 100% black barcode.
 
I know I can't distil a PDF file so I'm saving it as a PS from Acrobat then the distiller picks it up and does it's magic.
 
Unfortunately the PS file seems to be converted to RGB and when the distiller does it's thing the barcode is no longer 100% black but process black.
 
I've been tearing my hair out for a week now trying to get this job done. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Why are you trying to refry a PDF? It's not a recommended workflow.

Saving as EPS with the default settings preserves all four plates (assuming the original PDF actually IS a CYMK file).

My god, I've been doing the right thing all along. I was using ImageMagick's identify to read the plate values (barcode only version of the file). It was reporting positive values for all CMYK plates.

Opening the file in Photoshop and using the color dropper shows me never to use ImageMagick's "identify" app again.

Oh well, another wasted week will surely grown my character.

Thanks for confirming what I believed then disbelieved and now again believe.

New rule number one: If nothing makes sense, change how you check things!
