How can I convert mass (50-100) Word and WordPerfect documents into PDF quickly?

There are a couple of options available.

If it is a one-time conversion, manually may actually be your fastest and least costly endevor.

However, it this is something that may need to be repeated your options are:
MS-WORD - Convert all the documents to a single PDF then split that apart with one of the third-party PDF splitting tools. If all the documents are the same page lenght a simple JavaScript could be written to accomplish this.

If you need to pull forward Word metadata you will need to program a system that will drive Word for you. Rational Robot and WinBatch are both good tool sets to do this in a desktop environment.

For the truly extreme end of things - a lot of documents, constently, you can look at Adobe's LiveCycle PDF Generator ES. It's server side and costly, but is designed more for high capacity environments.

Unfortunately for WordPerfect, you are left with either manual or WinBatch/Rational Robot.
