I have Adobe Acrobat 5.0 using Windows XP and Office 2007. Can I convert Word and EXCEL files to PDF's? If so, how do I set that up. Acrobat Distiller does not show up in the printer list and there is no "convert to pdf" button in WORD or EXCEL. Nor is the command available.
1. In Acrobat, choose File > Create PDF > From File, or click the Create PDF button on the toolbar and choose From File.2. Select Microsoft Office Documents from the File of Type list, and locate the files that you want to convert. Shift-click or Ctrl-click to select multiple documents.
3. Click Settings if you want to change conversion options.
Solution 2:
Update to Adobe Acrobat 8.0.1.
1. Start Acrobat 5.0.
2. Choose Help > Update.3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.
Note: You can also download the update from the Adobe Web site at www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.php .
Solution 3
Replace the Pdfmaker.dot file.
If the PDFMaker icon reverts to its previous location in a Microsoft Office application, replace the Pdfmaker.dot file in the Microsoft Startup folder.
1. Exit from Word.
2. Rename the Pdfmaker.dot file in the following folder (for example, to Pdfmaker.old):
-- Office XP: Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10\Startup
3. Copy the Pdfmaker.dotfile in the Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Pdfmaker folder.
4. Move the copy you created to the following folder:
-- Office XP: Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10\Startup
