Converting Word file to pdf added pages to pdf file

When I converted a Word file to pdf format (by using the icon in my Word toolbar), the pdf file results counted 30 pages, however, the original Word file was 20 pages long. Upon examination of the pdf file I found blank pages added in between printed pages. What is causing this, and how do I fix it?

Look at your Word document in draft view and see if there are some hidden page breaks or section breaks. I must admit, though, pagination in Excel often results in similar problems.

It is because of your word document. Maybe there are some hidden characters. Try to check it out.

I will try my best to help you in PDF converison fields, objectively and Neutral.

My version of Word is 2003 SP3 and it does not have a draft mode. Also, the Reveal Formatting does not "reveal" any hidden codes. Any other suggestions?

Thank you,
