I am trying to copy a photo from a pdf file and use it in a Microsoft Publisher document. All I get is a blank photo, how do I get the picture?

Hi RJohns,

If there is no security on the PDF that prevents it (File- Properties and look under the Security tab) activate the "Select" tool ( it looks like an I beam with a left slanted arrow) then click on the photo to select it. It should be highlighted, then you can simply use Ctrl C to copy it to the clipboard. Open the Publisher file and use Ctrl V to copy the image from the clipboard.

Hope this helps,

I checked the security settings and there are no security settings that would block me copying the photo. All I get is a picture box with no picture. I have done all of the suggestions you have made.

Hi RJohns,

It could be that the photo is not actually what you are selecting with the Select tool- possibly the image is actually under some other content layer, not sure without seeing it. Try this- under Advanced ->Document Processing select Export Images. You'll then choose where to save them and can access them that way to copy into your Publisher file.Hope this helps,
