Count of PDF files in a package

we are trying to create pdf packages from outlook pst files. No problems in the process, for the most part. The issue I am trying to resolve is that sometime there are large numbers (200+) of emails in a pst that become the pdf package. I want to get a count of the pdfs in the package to compare with the number of source emails, to check that the conversion was successful, that nothing got dropped.

I've looked through the program (8.1.4), but I can't find anything that will give me a count of pdf documents in the package. Is there a way to do this?

Thank you

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1.4, Windows

Yes, there is a way. In the grey package navigation pane on the left, right click and select package properties. Make sure that INDEX is selected in the Fields list. Have it sort by INDEX and, after clicking OK, you should see the PDF files listed in numerical order (either ascending or descending, whichever you selected).

I looked in the package properties, INDEX doesn't seem to be an option. Is this specific to a version ( I have 8), or am I missing something here?

Hm. I'm not sure. I'm on 8.1.2. Just to verify we are looking at the same thing, what does show up in your Package Properties window?

With a Package PDF open you will observe a "ribbon" that, at the left, has the "house" icon and the phrase "Cover Sheet".
Once that is located; look to the far right for "Options".
Click the caret to drop-down the menu.
Click "Package Properties".
Fields that may be sorted are:
--| Index
--| Name
--| Description
--| Modified
--| Size

The default for the "Index" check box is unticked.
Put a tick (check) in the box.
You'll see what SeattleUser is alluding to.

I can find the package properties dialog, that isn't the problem. The problem is that 'Index' is not one of the options. It just isn't there. All the other options you list are there, but not 'Index'. This package is being created from MS Outlook 2007. Within Outlook I set the pdf creation options to 'embed the index', so it should be there. I tried the 'Add' option when in the package and added 'Index', but it's empty.
