From InDesign 2.02 using Acrobat/Distiller 5.05 under Windows XP and getting error message "Printing error: cannot print or export to the specified device. There may be insufficient disk space...". There is plenty of disk space. Last time I asked Adobe I was told I had too many fonts loaded. On a machine with 250 fonts loaded I get the error on a machine with 150 I can make the PDF but I'm limited on my font creativity. Is this nonsense still the likeliest cause? Are more recent versions of InDesign/Acrobat more tolerant?
V.Frustrated.
Have you tried using the Export function from within InDesign to create the PDF instead of using of Acrobat Distiller? Also, version 2 of InDesign was released prior to Windows XP so it wasn't certified on this operating system, which may be contributing to the problem.
There are trial versions of our products that you can test to make sure they work before you upgrade in your font-intensive environment.
