Document source incorrectly selects flatbed scanner

Hi, all. My first post here. Thanks for any assistance you can give.

I do rather a lot of scanning of multipage documents to image files in my practice. I used Acro 6 for years, and when I would click on create a pdf file...from scanner, in going through the dialog boxes, it always defaulted to document feeder as the source of the documents. I recently upgraded to v.8 professional and while I generally like the new program, it has one quirk that really bugs me -- when I scan a document as I described above, the document source defaults to "flatbed".

Is there any way known to anyone to change that default back to "document feeder" as it was in v.6?
