I am running excel 2000 and have Reader 8.0. Does anyone know how to batch convert a number of .xls files to .pdf files? I have seen some tools out there, but not sure what is the best.

Adobe Reader will not convert your Excel files into PDF unfortunately. You would need the full version of Adobe Acrobat to perform such as task. You can then use the 'Batch' command as an example in Acrobat Professional to point to a folder and get Acrobat to convert to PDF format.
