I recently moved from Acrobat 5.0 with Distiller to Acrobat 7.0 Professional. I have noticed that my files have gotten much smaller in size (159,843 to 23,753 and the new file grew by 1 page). Anyone have any observations, I am assuming a much better compression algorithm and that I am not losing any data.

Yes, Distiller has improved in many ways to help reduce the size of your PDFs
