Graphics disappear in conversion from Word to PDF; text wrap culprit

Help! I have a big grant application due Monday and I can't get my pictures to show up in the PDF.

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional and Word 2003. I have a 2 page Word document with 3 graphics that I inserted as pictures with text wrapping to the left of them. They look lovely in the Word document. On converting to PDF, the graphics simply disappear, and the text is reformatted as though they were never there. Yet in the Word document, the graphics remain. If I change the pictures to be in-line with text rather than square, they come out just fine. But I _really_ don't want to lay them out that way. And, darn it, why should it matter to Acrobat??

I have set the default printer to Adobe. I looked at the Adobe distiller log which doesn't obviously seem to report any errors although I don't really know how to read it.

I would really appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

Acrobat Pro 9.2, Windows

Hi,
Just a natter; but, have you selected "Drawing objects" to be included with document in the Print tab
of MS Word Options?

Success! You are the greatest. A very, very happy New Year to you!

I can't believe I've never noticed that option. (Word people if you are listening, why isn't it the default?)

Hi! There are various converters available, some may avoid it but may not avoid other formatting.
You can just try different converters. Try this easy and cute pdf converter, may be nemo pdf converter, click here. http://www.nemopdf.com/products/all_to_pdf.php
Hope it helps.

I'm having the same problem with images in Word 2007 docs not appearing in pdfs created with the Acrobat Pro 9 pdfmaker tab in Word. I couldn't find an option to include drawing objects in Word 2007, but I did find and select "Print background colors and images" in Word Options. However, this didn't help me. Images are still not appearing in the pdf. Are there any other suggestions?

kchristie:

Office 2007 > Word > Open menu associated with the Office Button.
Click the Word Options button (bottom right).
Select Advanced. Scroll down to "Show document content" and tick the entry "Show drawings and text boxes on screen".

hitendra:
Word to PDF while off line - Use Acrobat's PDFMaker.

I have Word 2010 - I insert a text box and then drop in a picture (jpeg) signature in it, maket the box move behind the text, then make the outline of the text box disappear. All is fine. When I convert document to pdf. Text boxes appear as a white blob over the text. Works fine in Word 2007.

Exactly what version of Acrobat are you attempting to use with Word 2010? And how are you creating PDF from Word 2010.

Note that the only version of Acrobat that supports Office 2010 via the direct PDFMaker capability is Acrobat 10.

I have Adobe 9- I found this happens when I am in Explore and right click to get "convert to pdf". I did get it to work by being in the document and did a "save as pdf" in Word. The signature appears and no white blob is there. Thank you.
