Hyperlinks in the footnotes

Converting from Word 2002 and Word 2003 to PDF using Adobe 8 professional we are having difficulty in transferring the hyperlinks from word. Links work throughout the document to email, the internet, as well as to figures and chapters within the document. Its just in the footnotes that this is not activated.

Please if someone can help can you tell me what the best settings are to achieve this?

(I already took the advice of someone else here and changed the preferences - this didn't help)

Many thanks in advance.

In the PDFMaker macro in Word (Adobe PDF menu) select "Change Conversion Settings". In the Word tab make sure that "convert footnote and endnote links" is checked. You'll need to convert your PDF using the PDFMaker macro to make sure that the links work properly.

Hi

I'm using Word 2007 and Acrobat 8.1.1 and although the TOC and cross-references within the document are working when converted to PDF, the cross-references in the footnotes do not work.

I've ensured that the "convert footnote and endnote links" option is checked but this doesn't fix the problem.

I've had to manually add a link to the footnote text once the PDF has been created and before I add the security.

Is there any other way around this problem?

Many thanks
