Hello list mates. I am a newbie searching for some assistance. I have a PDF file that cites to several hundred documents. I would like to create links to these docs, in such a manner that I can burn the entire data set onto a dvd and yet the links will be operational.
I am struggling to find a solution. I started with the data that is on my local drive. If i create links, the link actually shows the path to the c: drive. If I take this data set and burn onto a cd, it will not work.
If this is a newbie type of question, please pardon my interruption. I thank all of you in advance for your assistance.
Regards,
jay
On your hdd, keep the collection within a top level directory.
Put your link PDF file in its root or one level up...
Have the remainder of files there or in nested directories.
Use AApro8's link tool as needed. Links will be relative.
Burn this assembly to disc. Provide users directions to where
the link PDF file is on the disc or drop in an autorun.inf that will get it opened.
n.b., if the link is to open a non-PDF file there will be the
Do Not Open / Open warning dialog. If the user has the associated
application, the file will open.
Works with CD or DVD.
