Missing Acrobat 8 Pro Toolbars

The symptoms are when printing to PDF from any application (whether using File | Print | Adobe PDF OR using the PDF button on the application's toolbar), when the document is created and presented in Acrobat 8, all Acrobat 8 toolbars are missing. The toolbars can be added back but this happens every time a PDF doc is generated. However, I can open Acrobat by itself and the toolbars are there.

Any ideas would be most helpful!

What does the Document Properties Initial View tab say for the PDFs that open without any toolbars? You can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+d (Windows) to check.
Have you tried doing a Repair Acrobat Installation from the Help menu?

This issue happens with every document that is created with the Acrobat printer driver. And, it turns out there are two other users having the same problem. The doument properties initial view tab does not have the checkbox selected for "hide toolbars." Repairing Acrobat did not work.

I had this same issue a few months back and found the resolution to it but didn't make a note of it and now I can't seem to find that fix. I do recall it was pretty simple, like deleting a folder/file.

Perhaps you tried re-creating the Preferences folder? There is a suggestion for doing this at:

Thanks for that information but that did not work. Still having the same issue. Maybe it's a registry setting of some sort?

In the Preferences menu, do you have "Restore last view settings when reopening documents" unchecked under the Documents panel?
