I find the 'link tool' and the 'text touch up tool' a little cumbersome, but i might not be using the right approach altogether.
Is there a way to copy and paste a link from an .rtf or other text document into a PDF? Or do you have to create the links from scratch in Acrobat?
Basically, I am trying to create an exact replica in PDF from an .rtf with pictures and links (otherwise known as an .rtfd) and the easiest way (for me) would be to copy and paste the link as it is already formed in the file to the PDF.
The problem i am having is when the link goes from the .rtfd to the PDF, something gets corrupted in all the links and errors occur.(?)
i get one of the three following messages:
"The requested URL /______/ was not found on this server."
"The url contained a malformed video id." or
the URL address just gets divided somewhere in the middle and the link doesn't go to the right webpage.
Also, the color of the link gets messed up, but anyhow,
any suggestions?
Have you tried using the PDFMaker macro to automatically convert your links from Word? What do the URLs look like? Are they fully-formed? Have you tried using the "Create Links from URLs" command under the Advanced --> Document Processing menu?
