I have a quick question - I still run Office 2003 and have recently re-installed A9 Pro Ex. I have lost the add-in on Word although it is still there on Powerpoint. How do I get my add-in back. Sorry to be a pain!

Try a repair of the Acrobat installation under Help > Repair Acrobat Installation.

I recently created a large pdf document from both Word and InDesign files. Many characters were converted to little boxes. I thought it was only symbols at first, but it was more than that. The Word documents used the Ariel font, so I don't think the font was an issue. Do you know why this is happening?

Can you post this question in a new post in the PDF Creation forum? Please include information on what version of Acrobat and Word you are using.

Windows 7 Enterprise, MS Office 2010 Pro, Acrobat X Pro. I am getting the "Adobe PDF not bound to Adobe PDF Port, etc." A google search found lots (and lots and lots) of references to fixing the problem in Windows Vista (change the port selection, but there is no Adobe PDF port in the setup I described above. Can anyone help?

Love Adobe. Love Acrobat. But it's surprising and a bit disappointing to find that this issue has existed since late 2008 (in Vista) and still has apparently not yet been addressed.
:(

Thanks!

Thank you Merlin, for pointing me in that direction, however, i am using the 32-bit version of MS Office 2010...which is the version theoretically compatible. Again, while this is a new issue to me, clearly it has been an issue for quite some time for Adobe.

My plans at the moment are to downgrade back to Acrobat 9 Pro, and see how hard it is to get the purchase refunded. Then I guess I have no choice but to wait until Adobe releases a version or patch of Acrobat X that performs as promised. :(

Thanks again for your efforts.

I recently switched from Acrobat 8 to Pro 9 version, and the pretty much only feature I used in vesion 8 was crating PDF from "Create PDF" button. I needed Acrobat to prompt me BEFORE I scanned the PDF on the location and PDF name I wanted it to be saved under, but after switching to PRO 9 version, it only prompts me after i decide to close scanned PDF window. Does anyone know how to make PRO 9 version prompt a PDF path and name save BEFORE the scanning process? It is urgent. Thank you.

Hello

I'm new at forums and have a question about which version of Acrobat I should purchase.

I would like to make a PDF e book. I need a version of Acrobat that will accomplish the following 3 things:

1. I would like to add a navigation menu to my e book so the reader can just click on whatever chapter they want to go to.

2. I want to add live links to the e book.

3. I would like to add photos and graphics to my e book.

Will Acrobat X Standard do all of this or will I need Acrobat X Pro?

Thanks

@joerenner - for the most part Standard will be fine for your purposes, but bear in mind that Acrobat is NOT the place where you create your eBook - it's not a word processor! Your document has to be written in something else (Word, InDesign, Publisher, etc.) and exported to PDF from that application - Acrobat can then fine-tune the content, but things like links, bookmarks, graphics etc. are all placed by the original software.

See this link for the feature matrix - there's a link at the top of the table to a more detailed comparison..

Remember there's a free 30-day trial of Acrobat Pro available so you can get used to it before purchasing. Adobe doesn't have trials of Standard, but the link will show what features in Pro will be missing.
