PDF fails to convert and changes settings in word to points

Every time I try to convert a word document to a PDF, it fails to convert and changes the settings in word to points and leaves the document frozen.

All you can do is close out Word and re-open the document.

What is going on?

This is a know issue with Acrobat 7. The suggestion is to create your PDF from Word using the PDFMaker or Adobe PDF printer. Here is the URL to the technical note:
