Poor quality graphics when I PDF from MS Word 2007

Just started using Windows 2007/Office 2007, getting very poor quality of my graphics. Used .tiff, jpg, 300dpi, 600 dpi, but no matter what we use the converted graphic from Word 2007 to Adobe 8 file is terrible. Since we use a huge amount of pdf's here I would like to know how to fix this ASAP. Does any one else have this issue and what is the fix? What graphics should be applied to the Word document and is there a specific way the Word doc should be converted? I've tried all ways and all of the resulting PDF's are of bad quality.

Help would be appreciated!!!

I convert pdf files from word 2007 all the time and I have no issues with graphics at all, I use the press quality setting in the pdf maker preferences in word.

Select the proper settings in preferences and hit Create pdf... all there is to it.
