Nowhere in my Word for Mac 2004 is there an Adobe PDF menu to change conversion settings. Where is it? G5, 10.4.10,Word from Office 2004, Acrobat Pro 7x

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7.0.9, Macintosh

There is no PDF-Maker functionality on the Mac with Word unfortunately. Microsoft applications have some flexibility to have integration with other applications such as Acrobat. On the Mac platform it's slightly different ...

On a positive note, all versions of Adobe Reader and Acrobat from 7 upwards have the ability to auto-detect URLs in live text - this might help?

Cheers,

Jon

I've been using Acrobat since v1.0 and still get amazed by its power. An Acrobat ACE since 1999

So how do Mac users change conversion settings within Word for the Mac? Or, is there no way to make changes to conversion settings? I want to ensure that Enable accessibility and reflow, Add bookmarks, Add links are enabled. Where can I do that in Word for the Mac settings?

Just following up.

If I understand correctly, users of Word for Mac cannot add accessibility features (like Enable accessibility and reflow, Add bookmarks) when creating an Acrobat PDF document within Word for Mac, is that correct?

Waiting for confirmation.

Am I correct that using Word for Mac and Acrobat Professional 8, you cannot produce a tagged PDF within Word for Mac?

I have created a word document with hyperlinks but when I print to PDF, the hyperlinks are not active. How do I fix this?

Hi redcrew,

For AA8 in Mac OS; two PDFMaker Options.
(1) Convert To Adobe PDF
(2) Convert To Adobe PDF and EMail.

For AA9

Adobe wrote:
PDFMaker is not available for Mac OS. However, you can still create PDFs from many business applications using the File > Print command. In the Print dialog box, choose Adobe PDF from the Printer menu.

For whatever reason, this has been the case for some time now.

In the Mac OS, without the PDFMaker's facility to pre-process output to support tagged output PDF, the PDF would, I think, have to be post-processed using Acrobat Pro.

Valiscent,
If in Windows, use the Adobe PDFMaker add-on to Word that is installed when Acrobat Standard or Professional is installed.
Properly configured, the Adobe PDFMaker will provide, to Adobe Distiller, an input that results in an output PDF having the links.

If you do a File > Print the Word file's content goes direct to Distiller and the output PDF will have no interactive features.
In such a case you could use Acrobat Pro to add the interactivity desired.

I've had success importing the Word file containing hyperlinks into Google Docs, where it's translated into HTML and prints PDF's containing links.
