Programmatically change print orientation

I am creating PDF documents via Crystal Reports using the Distiller print driver. Is there a way to programmatically change the orientation of a document? We recently upgraded to Acrobat 8.0 from Acrobat 4.0. Prior to the upgrade, I used PDFWriter for the landscape orientation, and Distiller for the portrait. The upgrade to 8.0 did away with PDF Writer, and I still need to create documents in both orientations. HELP!!!

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 8, Windows

Hi kklinger,

In Distiller there is a setting that allows you to automatically rotate pages according to the direction of text. You can do this for all pages (to match the orientation of majority of text) or individually.

The Adobe PDF Settings dialog box in Acrobat Distiller contains panels of options that you can select turn this capability on/off.

Hope this helps,
Lori

I've created a two-page PDF from two separate PDFs with Acrobat Pro 8. Is it possible to create it so that when the user receives it, and prints it, it prints both pages on one sheet (front and back) and oriented correctly?

jdimo,
That'd be a function of the printer driver for the attached local/network printer.
At work I do print to 2-sided hardcopy, with proper orientation to the network printer (one of those high end Canon ImageRunners).
I'd guess it comes down to how many bells and whistles the printer device and its software
are capable of.
