I've just read a question about refreshing Acrobat/Reader "Refreshing PDFs on the Web" Feb 8.
 
I just experienced a similar problem. I was overwriting an existing pdf with a new one but the old one kept downloading.
 
Even if I deleted all pdfs the old one still loaded. I refreshed, Ctrl refreshed, cleared the browser cache and tried in Firefox and IE.
 
Then I had a thought, phoned our IT Dept and got them to clear the proxy server cache - sorted.

This problem has been reported here in this forum eartlier. you might want to report it to Adobe Technical Support. Could be a bug in the current release.
