Scanning Documents

Does version 9 fix the issue in version 8 where you are prompted to save the file BEFORE you scan it? I find that to be annoying as I may not always want to save the file if it does not scan correctly. I would like to see it go back to where you would be prompted to save the file AFTER you scan the document.

Can you detail what point version of Acrobat 8 and operating system you're using? Prompting for a save prior to scanning is not typical behavior for this process.

Yes, Acrobat 9 no longer requires you to save before you scan (unless you happen to choose certain specific optiosn at scan time, that will continue to require this). But the default is NOT to do force save like Acrobat 8.

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to keep the save as box so it will still show up prior to scanning. I was just in contact with an Acrobat professional for two hours after finding out they changed this in Acrobat 9. I had Acrobat 8 and got used to being able to save where the PDF was going prior to scanning. It is much easier to do this and a lot less complicated when creating thousands of files. I saw these posts and thought maybe someone knew how to change the defaults for this so I can have that option back. Thanks in advance!!
