From the menu bar in Acrobat - Click Create PDF, From Scanner and inspect the Scanner options settings. Your scanner should be listed as a TWAIN or WIA device.
Go to the scanners Control Panel and inspect the scanners properties to make sure its set to use Acrobat as the program to start when the scan is complete.
