STYLEREF adds 0B

I just installed Acrobat Professional 8.0. When I convert a Word document with {STYLEREF 2} in the Header, Acrobat adds 0B to the chapter name. If I turn off bookmark conversion for Level 2, it doesn't happen. Is there anything I can do besides replacing the chapter heading styleref to plain text?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.0999999999999996447286321199499070644378662109375, Windows

Hi leeba,

This is an issue in Acrobat 8 (PDFMaker) and appears to be related to Headings with cross-references in Word. You have a good (short-term) suggestion in replacing the chapter heading with plain text in Word until the issue is corrected in Acrobat. One other suggestion I've seen is to make sure you have the header/footers turned off prior to creating the PDF. FYI there is more information on this issue at:

This problem was re-introduced in Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.1.0 and remains a problem on 9.1.3. There are no workarounds noted here and on other forums that allow you to create page footers and generate bookmarks for the PDF version.

In one document that I have just created it added 4B to the header!

First time I've had that, every other time it was 0B.

This was in Acrobat 8.2.

I have just run the same file using Acrobat 9.3.1 and I'm happy to say that there's no 0B bug there.

BTW, it's not just STYLEREF that causes this -- my documents use the REF field in the header and get 0B as well.

In Acrobat 9.3.1 Standard, the problem is NOT fixed on our documents. "0B" through "16B" are prefixed to each of the 16 section names in our footers.

9.3.1 has also not gotten rid of another problem where, in some of our larger documents (those with more topics), certain random bookmarks jump to the wrong place in the document, even though the Table of Contents bookmarks in Word work fine.

Jerry,

Sorry to hear you're still having problems. I wasn't aware of a problem with bookmarks but I now know it's something else to look out for.

At least I now understand where the numbers come from.

Hoping you find a resolution.

Hi! We're experiencing the same problems in 9.0.0

Has this been fixed?
