I have searched the forums and can not find a previous post on this issue, so wanted to ask.

I am converting a Word file to PDF using Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. I converted it on an XP machine with Office 2007 with no problems. Then converted the same file on a Vista machine with Office 2007 and got this strange result. The headings in my Word file are all in bold and underlined. I have Acrobat set to convert headings to bookmarks. But on the second machine the bookmarks all contain a capital letter "U" in front of the actual heading/bookmark text. If I remove the underline in the heading in Word and reconvert, the "U" goes away in the bookmark. Then if I underline it again, the "U" comes back again...thoughts?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro Extended 9.2, Windows

Hi,
Just a data point.
I cannot duplicate what you describe.
Vista - Office 2007 - Acrobat Pro/Extd 9.3 - using Word's built-in, default Headings (modified to have an underline).

Two variables may be worth considering.
If need be, update Acrobat to 9.3
Are Word's built-in headings being used?

Be well...

Be well...

I made a mistake. I was actually running Acrobat Pro Extended 9.0. I upgraded to the current version (9.3.1) and it appears to be working fine now. Should have checked that to start with, but thanks for the help.

I am experiencing the same issue thought I'm using Windows XP, but upgrading Adobe did not fix it.
Windows XP - Office 2007 - Acrobat Pro 9.4.1
I've tried using the Acrobat Add-In for MS Word and creating it directly through Acrobat, the problem occurs either way. The headings were made by modifying Word's built-in styles and saving them.
