the pdf has the original directory at the top. Like c:\mydocuments\file.txt.

How do I get rid of that?

Thanks!

You can use the "Text Touch Up" tool in Acrobat Standard or better.

If you do not want this to appear, you need to change the 'Page Setup' for the program you are using to view the text file.

Thanks for responding. I'm using Acrobat Pro 7. I'm using Notepad to view the text file. I changed the header and footer inf there but that didnt work. I always get the directory of the original file on the header of the new PDF file. I can't figure it out. It must be a setting on Acrobat.

Hi digitalmatt,

I tried this with the same result as you (NotePad->PDF). I do not believe there is a setting in Acrobat to remove the file name for a conversion from NotePad. Best bet is to use the Text Touch Up tool to remove it.Hope this helps,

You need to change the 'Page Setup' in Notepad to remove the text inserted by Notepad into the header or footer of the printed document.

Hi gkaiseril,

I did change the Page Setup in Notepad (Version 6) to no header or footer and I still get a PDF with the file path in the header when I use File ->Create PDF ->From File and select the .txt to convert.Do you have a newer version of Notepad?

Thanks rbogie,

I was not printing to PDF from Notepad, but converting from file in Acrobat. This did the trick for me. I hope this works for you too digitalmatt.

Thanks!

That Worked!!!
Thanks so much. You have to print to PDF instead of importing it in to Acrobat.
Fantastic.
Thanks rbogie and everyone else!
