Hyperlinks in portfolio do not work in previous versions

I created a portfolio using Adobe Version 9 and one of the PDFs in the portfolio has a hyperlink to a web page (http://www.somepage.com/somepage.aspx).

As long as users viewing this document have Acrobat 9 the links work. People with Version 8 report that the link does not work (it shows the link pointer when hovering over the link but nothing happens when they click it).

People with version 5 report that they cannot even open the PDF - they get an error that the file is corrupt. Can anyone help. Thanks.

I'm having hyperlink problems myself oldwizard46, and have no answers. But... what I have found is that it's pretty much impossible to expect anything decent to work on any Reader versions prior to 7. And... I've some issues with 7 as well. But generally 7 & 8 seem to work OK. My only solution in that event is to send a link to the users as well that will enable them to downlowd version 9, or whatever version is happening at the time.Meanwhile, I'm off to try to figure out my hyperlinking problem. It's slightly different, so I won't go on about it here. But you'll no doubt see my question come in soon.
